NEW PATIENTS

No matter what led you to us, be it a physical, emotional or spiritual challenge, or a combination of all three, we are here to help guide you back to vibrant health and balance. Every appointment is focused exclusively on you -- we do not work with multiple patients at the same time. We do this because each person is unique in their own particular circumstances and needs, and we want to get to know you and create a healing path with you.

YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Your initial appointment will take approximately 90 minutes. During this time, we will conduct a thorough Chinese Medicine health history and medical intake. This will be followed by a front and back acupuncture treatment with essential oils. We may also use cupping, tui na massage or gua sha, prescribe herbal medicine, or incorporate nutrition and lifestyle counseling as indicated.

You might also want to think about where you are in your life right now -- physically, emotionally and spiritually -- and where you wish you had more "free flow" and ease. It might be tight muscles in your neck, anxiety and stress, a feeling of being incomplete or lost, for example.

FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS

Acupuncture can be scheduled as often as three times a week or as little as twice a month or even seasonally. Every individual is different, so the frequency and number of follow up session always varies. When focusing on a particular concern, treatments are likely to be scheduled once a week until the condition is resolved, with the benefits of treatment being cumulative. For an acute or recent condition, only a few sessions may be needed, while others may need sustained, on-going care to reverse deep-set patterns that have been established over time. Ultimately, ongoing treatments will depend on the nature of the complaint, its severity, and how long it has been present. Follow up appointments last about 60 minutes.

WHAT TO BRING

Except for payment and a completed Integrative Health History form (download below), you do not need to bring anything with you to your first treatment. If you take any medications and vitamins/supplements, it would also be good to bring a list of these. Most medical information will be addressed during our initial, in-depth intake session. If you're coming in for a specific injury or pain management issue, you can bring recent lab results or imaging that relate to your injury if you have them (but this is not necessary). Feel free to write down any questions you have ahead of time so that you can make sure we discuss them -- no question is ever silly.

WHAT TO WEAR

There is no special clothing you have to wear for an acupuncture treatment. Just wear comfortable, loosing-fitting clothes with sleeves and pant legs that can be rolled up to the elbow or knee.  You will remain fully clothed during the treatment.

BEFORE & AFTER TREATMENT

It is wise to have something light to eat one or two hours before an acupuncture treatment. After treatment, it is normal to feel  "blissed-out" and relaxed. People return to their normal routine after a treatment, and usually sleep very well that night.

PAYMENT POLICY

Payment is due at the conclusion of your appointment. The Alchemy Project accepts Cash or Check, and Visa, Master Card and American Express. We do not accept insurance at this time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please be courteous and provide 24 hours notice for all cancelled appointments. This helps ensure that we can meet the needs of all our patients who would like to schedule an appointment. There is a $50 cancellation fee for no-show patients.
